The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) is an international human rights treaty adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2006. This landmark agreement aims to protect and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights by persons with disabilities. The Convention promotes, protects, and ensures the dignity, equality, and fundamental freedoms of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society. It covers key areas including accessibility, personal mobility, health, education, employment, and participation in political and public life. As a signatory country, Nepal has committed to implementing the provisions of this Convention to create a more inclusive and accessible society for all persons with disabilities.
